165,000 Reasons welcomes Darren Rodwell as campaign Ambassador
165,000 Reasons is proud to welcome Darren Rodwell, Founder and Director of Inclusive Growth Consultancy, as a campaign Ambassador, strengthening its growing national coalition committed to ensuring no child’s home is temporary.
Darren has extensive experience of local government, regeneration and community led growth, including more than a decade as Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council. His work has focused on ensuring development creates lasting social and economic benefits for local people.
His support brings valuable insight into the pressures facing councils, the importance of partnership working and the need to place families and communities at the heart of housing and regeneration policy.
The crisis of children living in temporary accommodation cannot be solved by one sector, one policy, one council or one organisation alone. It requires national ambition, local leadership and practical collaboration.
Darren Rodwell, Founder and Director of Inclusive Growth Consultancy, said:
“Several years ago, I described the scale of the crisis as one child in every classroom being homeless because they did not have a permanent place to call home. Today, heartbreakingly, the situation is even worse, but my determination to help reverse it has not changed.
Every child deserves the safety, stability and dignity of a secure home. This is not simply a housing issue; it affects a child’s health, education, confidence and future. I am proud to become an Ambassador for 165,000 Reasons and to work alongside others who share the belief that temporary accommodation must never become a permanent childhood. There are 165,000 reasons for us to act, and every single one of them is a child.”
Nick Kilby, Founder of Cratus Group and 165,000 Reasons, added:
“We are delighted to welcome Darren as an Ambassador for 165,000 Reasons. His experience of local government, regeneration and inclusive growth gives him a deep understanding of both the pressures facing councils and the importance of ensuring development delivers meaningful benefits for local communities.
Darren has always been a passionate advocate for growth that improves people’s lives. His leadership and commitment will be invaluable as we work to ensure that children and families in temporary accommodation are placed at the heart of housing policy.”
As a campaign Ambassador, Darren will help raise awareness, contribute his experience of local government and inclusive growth and support the campaign in building a broader coalition for change.
We are grateful to Darren for standing with us.
