Dr Laura Neilson joins as campaign Ambassador

Shared Health Foundation founder joins national coalition standing with children and families in temporary accommodation.

165,000 Reasons is proud to welcome Dr Laura Neilson, founder of Shared Health Foundation, as a campaign Ambassador, strengthening its growing national coalition committed to ensuring no child’s home is temporary.
Shared Health Foundation works to reduce health inequalities and has played a leading role in exposing the serious consequences of temporary accommodation for babies, children and families.

As a practising doctor and experienced campaigner, Laura has seen how unsuitable and insecure housing can affect children’s physical health, emotional wellbeing and development. Her work has helped ensure that the experiences of families are heard by decision makers and translated into calls for practical change.

Laura’s support will strengthen the campaign’s focus on temporary accommodation as not only a housing crisis, but also a public health crisis that demands urgent action.

Dr Laura Neilson, founder of Shared Health Foundation, said:

“I am delighted to be joining 165,000 reasons campaign. Together we will be able to find solutions, bring forward evidence and ultimately change the experience and outcomes for the thousands of children and families living in Temporary Accommodation.”

Nick Kilby, Founder of Cratus Group and 165,000 Reasons, added:

“We are delighted to welcome Laura as an Ambassador for 165,000 Reasons. Through her work as a doctor and campaigner, Laura has done so much to expose the devastating impact that temporary accommodation can have on the health, wellbeing and development of children.

Her evidence, expertise and determination have helped ensure that the experiences of families are heard by those with the power to create change. Laura will be an invaluable Ambassador and will help us keep children’s health, safety and dignity at the heart of everything the campaign does.”

As a campaign Ambassador, Laura will continue to raise awareness of the health impact of temporary accommodation, contribute frontline evidence and expertise and ensure the experiences of children and families remain at the heart of the campaign.

We are grateful to Laura for standing with us.
